What is the Broken Marathon?

Broken Marathon is World’s newest long distance running format, accrue 42.2km over 6 stages. The objective of the Broken Marathon is for athletes to complete the fastest ever marathon distance through stage racing with rest and recovery periods in between. Will the 2 hour marathon finally be broken?

The Broken Marathon also makes completing the marathon distance achievable to runners of all levels and makes an amazing day out for those that want to get a team together!

The Format

The event takes place over six races, competitors can register as an individual or as a team of 2 or 6 competitors.

Description
A 4.5km stage, requiring participants to achieve a minimum 8’30” per kilometer pace to finish within the stage 1 cut off time.

A 5.5km stage, requiring participants to achieve a minimum 8’ per kilometer pace to finish within the stage 2 cut off time.
